PBS documentary - Garbage Dreams

On another note, check out this very cool PBS documentary, website, and educational game about a recycling industry in Cairo, Egypt:

Tread Lightly Challenge, etc.

Oh, and stay tuned for the Global Village story and activity suggested by Mrs. Knowles (http://mrsknowles.weebly.com/)

She has graciously offered to help us play a cool environmental/social game on her PC laptops in the Carrabassett Team hallway.

Mrs. Knowles and Ms. Beal are interested in helping out with MGT club. As always, Mr. Parent is a wealth of information about York County, Maine and about ecology in general. Be sure to contact him with any questions that we can't answer ourselves!

Hope your vacation is going well!

MGT's First Meeting

In our first official meeting, we accomplished a lot! We decided our group name will be the Mustang Green Teens (MGT). We also decided what we want to achieve, which is to help save the trees and endangered species in southern Maine. We decided that we want to stop or limit the deforestation in our area, and protect endangered species in Maine, such as turtles, snakes, and lady slippers. We also want to help clean up the roads, and serve our community in general.
